The Victron Orion 24/12-80 DC-DC Converter is designed to efficiently convert 24V DC input into a regulated 12V DC output, allowing 12V equipment to operate safely within a 24V electrical system. With an output capacity of 80A, it is capable of powering high-demand 12V loads, including lighting, communication equipment, refrigeration, and onboard electronics.
This version of the Orion converter is equipped with binding post terminals, providing a secure and robust connection for higher current applications. These terminals allow installers to connect larger cables more easily, making them particularly suitable for professional vehicle, marine, and off-grid installations.
The converter includes a remote on/off connector, which eliminates the need to install a high-current switch in the input wiring. Although some Orion models feature adjustable output for battery charging applications, this converter is commonly used to supply stable 12V power from a 24V battery bank. In systems requiring more output current, multiple Orion converters can be connected in parallel, with up to five units operating together to increase total capacity.
